At the NeurodiverCity Training Academy we  are actively seeking forward thinking employers who will agree to consider a student's CV and give them either a face-to-face, online or telephone interview.

Could you be one of those trusted employers willing to give our young neurodiverse and Care Leaver students the opportunity of a potentially life changing interview?

If so, please click this link and send us your details for one of our team to contact you.

A traditional job interview can be problematic. If you have a neurodivergent condition like Autism or Dyspraxia, you could struggle to understand social norms and non-verbal communication. Autistic people are also prone to sensory processing issues, making a panel interview difficult to navigate as the candidate has to focus on several people’s verbal and non-verbal communication at one time.

However, there are many ways to adapt your interviewing techniques to help neurodivergent individuals. For example, instead of using a panel of interviewers, you could conduct a series of sequential interviews with one interviewer at a time.

Also, at the NeurodiverCity Training Academy we are seeking trusteed interview buddies, who with permission will sit in on an interview session with the interviewee and provide gentle prompts when needed.
