The NeurodiverCity Training Academy

Assess Education was founded as a Non-for-Profit organisation,  to support every child in achieving their potential, regardless of personal or social issues.

Outside of their alternative school provision, they are also heavily involved with local communities and give back whenever they can.

By working closely with organisations such as the NeurodiverCity Training Academy, ADHD Foundation, ADDvanced Solutions Community Network, CAHMS, FOCUS and NWCS, they collectively support more young people to become socially mobile by engaging with education.

Our partnership includes working with neurodiverse and young Care Leavers 16 years and older to teach functional GCSE Maths and English.

Together we recognise that every pupil is different and therefore will have different needs, learning styles and personalities.

In partnership with the NeurodiverCity Training Academy, Assess Education offer a customised learning package that sets out to ensure that they understand students 16 year’s plus and provide them with the support they need in achieving functional GCSE Maths and English.

The team are well experienced in working with young people with emotional and behavioural problems, and as such, Assess Education really do help change the lives of the young people they work with.

Functional Skills provide the fundamental knowledge and skills for English, Maths (and separately ICT) that people need in their everyday lives. As a nationally recognised qualification, Functional Skills could be studied in isolation, but in this partnership is part of a broader study programme.

The qualifications are delivered in practical ways, allowing students to apply the core knowledge gained to their everyday lives. Seen as a vital level of education to have, these Functional Skills courses will help to open the doors to progression opportunities both academically and professionally, meaning that they are suitable for students of all ages.
